The current purpose of this blog is for me to share my experiences as a day camp counselor. I've been noticing how much I learn from hanging out with kids all day and I want to share my joy and insight with all of you. Though it is true I will eventually cease to be a camp counselor, my career goals and, I believe, my ministry are centered around caring about kids. So this will likely be a relevant topic for me for a while. I also believe what Jesus says about entering the kingdom of God like a child in Luke 18. So I try to live with childlike faith. Having said this, writing about my experiences with kids is probably something I should have started doing a while ago, but I've only just now summoned the courage and motivation to actually start. The three motivating factors?
1) I wanted something to keep my thinking about my about my days with the camp kids.
2) I like finding things to keep me learning in general. I find that once I am able to write about what I've learned, I know I've actually really learned and grown and been changed.
3) I need something to keep me busy this summer. Let's just be real.
